The Hokkaido Cup took place this past weekend, at the Saville Sports Center here in Edmonton, it was a great venue, and event.
The FS Army is starting to grow, as newest members Ryan Polak, and Brett Gale not only competed, but medaled in there 1st competition. They went head to head in the morning session, and Ryan was able to take 1st by lifting 105/125 edging Brett out by Sinclair scoring system, as Brett had the higher total with his lifts of 100/133.
Then in the afternoon it was my plan for the Padawan to over take the Jedi Master, but Rob Lockwood refused to grant me my Jedi Ranking, beating me soundly in Sinclair points as a 77kg lifter, though we both totalled 260kg. Rob hit is opening snatch of 115kg, missed 120 twice. He then missed his opening clean and jerk twice before clutching up to hit his “bomb or bust” attempt at 145. I went 110/115xx/145/150x/150pr.
Farm Strong is going to have to buck up and get some better video! But you can see some of the lifts on the Facebook page.
As always big thank you to Kevin Zimmerman for handling all the coaching duties, even though he states most of us are un-coachable!
