Meet Coach Clover, the unofficial mascot of Farmstrong Athletics! 🐾

She’s not exactly a support dog… because honestly, she’ll be the one needing support (especially if a barbell drops too loud). But don’t worry, she’s got her own unique coaching style:

Specializes in: Free licks and tail wags.

Favorite exercise: Running between platforms looking for snacks.

Life advice: Always chase after what you want (especially tennis balls).

She’ll be joining classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so come say hi and get your daily dose of doggy joy! Just don’t expect her to load your plates… she’s still working on that.

Sunny

Coach

Coach Sunny has been an integral part of Farmstrong Athletics for many years, both as an athlete and a coach. In addition to his passion for coaching, Sunny owns and operates Pursuit of Motion Physiotherapy, where he specializes in helping athletes recover from injuries and perform at their best.

Sunny’s background in competitive basketball, volleyball, karate, and kickboxing sparked his deep interest in human kinetics, anatomy, and sports performance, eventually leading him to Olympic weightlifting. With a BSc in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University and a Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta, Sunny brings an exceptional level of expertise to both his coaching and physiotherapy practices.

Known for his kind and gentle demeanor, Sunny has worked with countless athletes, including Team Canada members from Farmstrong Athletics, helping them overcome aches and pains to achieve their goals. Whether guiding athletes on the platform or in the treatment room, Sunny’s dedication and care make him an invaluable member of the Farmstrong family.

Michelle

Coach

Coach Michelle, a proud member of Team Alberta, combines her competitive experience with a strong commitment to athlete development. While pursuing her studies in nursing with the goal of becoming a registered nurse, she brings a caring and nurturing approach to her coaching. Michelle’s dedication to supporting her athletes both on and off the field enriches every class she leads, making her an invaluable asset to our team.

Danny

Head Coach

Coach Danny, a dedicated and passionate leader at Farmstrong Athletics. With over ten years of coaching experience, Danny has cultivated a deep understanding of Olympic weightlifting, a journey he began at the age of nine, inspired by his father’s participation in the sport.

Danny has had the honour of representing Canada multiple times, and he finds great fulfilment in coaching athletes to reach their full potential. He has guided several athletes to the international stage, always prioritising their growth and development.

What Danny values most is the opportunity to help athletes progress and achieve their goals. He takes particular joy in coaching his own daughter and son, who are just starting their sports journey. For Danny, the heart of coaching lies in supporting and nurturing each athlete's unique path.
